Dear Friend,

We invite you to The UnConvention: Uniting Progressive Activists for Change on June 2, 2024 from 2pm-4pm on Zoom. We are concerned about the loss of 15,000 members in the Democratic Party and want to re-engage those and other people at this critical time in our history. Our goal is to organize around progressive issues that are in the platform but not supported by the Party or the convention.

Please fill out our Registration form and also the survey so we know your thoughts. Registration Form and Survey (Or use the QR code below.)

While we are not charging a registration fee, we do have costs and appreciate your donation.

The UnConvention is being organized by The Massachusetts Progressive Action Organizing Committee (MPAOC). MPAOC is a coalition of MA State-wide Political and Community organizations and was formed to increase progressive political power. These organizations include MASS Peace Action, North American Indian Center of Massachusetts, Our Revolution-MA, Progressive Mass, FCCPR (Franklin County continuing the Political Revolution) and Progressive Dems of America-MA.

Keynote Speaker: Robert Kuttner

Robert is the co-founder and co-editor of The American Prospect and a Professor at Brandeis University’s Heller School. He has written extensively on the failures of the Massachusetts Democratic Party, the people and practices found in his article here: “Massachusetts Blues”. He will speak on “Massachusetts: Turning Progressive Sentiments into Progressive Government”.

Speaker: Danielle Allen

Danielle Allen is an internationally recognized expert on the structures of democracy. She is the Founder and President of Partners In Democracy and a seasoned nonprofit leader, democracy advocate, and tech ethicist. There will be a break-out session that she will facilitate. She will speak on Voice and Choice: Key Reforms to Make Democracy Real”.

Breakouts will be designed to provide opportunities for networking and the creation of action plans. We will have experienced activists to guide the discussion and talk about ways you can become involved.

There will be up to 10 Break-out sessions divided into 3 areas:

  1. How can we build a progressive alliance with the Democratic Party to better address the progressive agenda, bring people back into the Party, and remove impediments to transparency and responsiveness?

  1. How can we build strategies to expand progressive power with the Commonwealth that includes coalition building, increasing grassroots participation, giving voice to marginalized people, and developing a new social contract that serves all people?

  1. How do we organize around progressive issues that can be addressed at the state level. For example, but not limited to Single-payer Healthcare, the Housing Crisis, Income Inequality, Legal Justice Reform, and Education Reform?

Please share this event with other ally organizations or people. We need help spreading the word!

Thank you so much for your interest and participation!
