Striker Support Needed in Boston
ORMA is very pleased that 48,000 of our UAW sisters and brothers – on strike since Sept. 16th – have reached a tentative accord with GM.

But much closer to home, our sisters and brothers in UNITE HERE Local 26 Hotel Workers have not been as successful in their negotiations with Boston’s Battery Wharf Hotel ownership since March, 2019. Indeed, the hotel owners and the strikers are in an ongoing struggle about healthcare benefits, yearly wage increases, and language protecting female workers from sexual harassment and assault. Nor have the owners been willing to include standard contract language that upholds the security and safety of immigrant union members or to keep language in the hotel contract that seeks to correct the historical discrimination of African-American workers in the hotel industry.
Having no alternative, on September 5th, the workers went on strike:
Workers are on the picket line 7AM-7PM. Join any day!

UNITE HERE 26 is also calling on organizations and individuals to sign on to boycott the hotel.

Thank you!
