Endorsements

 (State wide)

PAUL FEENEY is our only statewide endorsed candidate. Paul is a candidate for State Senate, to replace Senator James Timilty, his former boss. Timilty is leaving his senate seat to serve as Bristol and Norfolk County Treasurer. If Paul’s name sounds familiar, it should! Paul served as the state chair for the Bernie Sanders campaign for both Massachusetts and Connecticut during the 2016 primary season. Let’s all get behind Paul as he pushes toward the finish line of the primary on September 19th!

How you can help: See Paul’s canvassing schedule and if possible, make a contribution.

Our Revolution State wide initiatives

Our Revolution is supporting two state wide initiatives and it’s a great opportunity for Affiliates and groups to tackle a concrete project with a meaningful impact. This is an easy and fun group action especially for new affiliates to jump right in.

1) Summer for Progress

National Our Revolution and Our Revolution Massachusetts have joined the coalition of organizations in a Summer for Progress. Members from around the state are taking action by attending town halls and reaching out to their representatives as a group activity. Our Revolution is calling all progressives to fight for the #People’sPlatform–eight bills currently in the House of Representatives that will address the concerns of everyday Americans. This campaign targets Democratic Representatives, demanding that they make good on the platform.

  • See this link for the Summer for Progress Action Guide
  • See the platform and sign the petition here: summerforprogress.com
  • Go to congress.gov and check if your Representative already supports a bill from the People’s Platform (enter the bill number or narrative in the search function).
  • View the Summer for Progress trainings/workshop

First training is now available on line

Second training Thursday Aug 3rd at 5:30pm PT /8:30pm ET

ORMA Transition Team is Launched

On Saturday, July 29th, the Our Revolution Massachusetts (ORMA) Transition Team (TT)met all day at the Matthew John Whittall Lodge in Shrewsbury to form a team and begin the work of structuring a transition to a new ORMA, including an October founding conference.

Most of the 40 Transition Team members were representatives from ORMA Affiliate Groups.  A few others were unaffiliated, from regions without affiliates like Springfield and Medford, members from the Interim Coordinating Committee (ICC), and helpers from the Mission, Structure and Planning (MSP) team that organized the event.

After some team-building work, the Transition Team agreed on a new leadership structure and created five sub-committees. Look for an in-depth article in the mid-month issue of this newsletter. To reach the new Coordinating Team by email: transition@ourrevolutionma.com or read more at http://ourrevolutionma.com/transition-team.

From the Field and Affiliate Coordination Team –  and that’s a FACT

The Field team is pleased with the many recent developments in Our Revolution Massachusetts (ORMA) as we move towards a Founder’s Confereence scheduled for this Fall. FACT is an arm of ORMA and your first stop with questions on how to get started as an Our Revolution Massachusetts group.

How can FACT help grow your affiliate?

  • The Field Team (FACT) offers a weekly Thursday team building on-line meeting for existing and newly formed affiliates –and new members are welcome! Contact petercorb2@gmail.com for more details or find an affiliate near you.
  • FACT can help your group get started in planning local and state actions or help with your first meeting. Has your group considered taking part in the Summer for Progress or Raise Up Massachusetts campaigns?
  • Look for a special letter later this month for how supporters of the Our Revolution Platform can engage in even more effective revolutionary organizing as members of an affiliate, or as unaffiliated supporters/members.
