The 24 member Representative Council of Our Revolution Massachusetts sent a letter this week to the Massachusetts members of the Rules and Bylaws Committee of the DNC. The letter urges members to reform the 2020 presidential debate process by assembling a “Debate Commission” in advance of the 2020 Presidential Primary debates.
In solidarity with the black women activists who requested Chairman Perez heed the leaders in their community, Our Revolution Massachusetts urges the appointment of women – who span the fields of labor, politics, academia – to the Debate Commission: Nina Turner, Opal Tometti, Alicia Garza, Patrice Cullors, Heather McGhee, Michelle Alexander, Kimberle Crenshaw, Monique W Morris, Tamika Mallory, Valerie Long, Karen Lewis and Barbara Fisher.
“…(these appointments) will help inspire confidence in the fairness of the scheduling process and help the Democratic Party…(to) ensure a more productive policy analysis of our national challenges.”
The Representative Council is encouraging activists, affinity groups and organizations to join Our Revolution in actively supporting this effort for reform and broader representation.
