In the Massachusetts Democratic Party, the people who organized the successful fight for the 2021 Platform in 2025 have joined together to continue the struggle for a Democratic Party that fights for the 99%. They call themselves Platform in Action.
For the upcoming Democratic Convention, we are building a campaign to rid its primaries of dark money and SuperPAC interference. Due to changes in the rules, the party has made it virtually impossible to bring forward a resolution on dark money at this convention. Therefore, we are asking delegates and alternates to the 2026 Convention to sign a petition calling on the Democratic State Committee to develop a plan to implement new rules that would create incentives for candidates to refuse dark money. As the petition says, “With party enrollment declining by 16.2% since 2016 and the MAGA vote growing in many parts of Massachusetts, we need to win back the trust of voters.”
It would be fantastic if you organized your members and allies who are attending the Convention to join in this effort.
Delegates and alternates to the convention can sign the petition. They can also consider being a Whip, collecting signatures from delegates in their State Senate district. Whether they are delegates this year or not, they can volunteer to collect signatures of delegates entering the convention on Friday evening or first thing on Saturday morning. If you are a delegate, plan to attend our press conference at 9 AM at our Table, #32.
